No Vote = No Power
The PACT Voter Power Campaign
A Citywide 6-month Campaign to Register, Educate and Turnout 10,000+ New Young Voters in 2006
This summer and fall, young adults will be working with Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Sport and Social Club, local music and neighborhood festivals, churches, and college campuses to register 10,000 (We've currently reached 13,005!) new voters. There are 3 ways to get involved in this campaign...
1. If you have not voted, fill out the Voter Pledge Card below and pledge to vote November 7th!
2. If you have already voted, sign-on and become one of our 12,000 united!!
3. Volunteer!
Make history: Volunteer 2 Minutes, 2 Hours, or 2 Weeks.
PACT (Public Action for Change Today) is working hard to turnout 12,000 new voters in this election and the first phase is done. 13,019 young voters have registered and pledged. Now we gotta get them (and more) out to the polls. Here is your chance to be a part of this historic push for young adult participation.
Why does this matter? Your hard work has already gotten the attention of the two Gubernatorial campaigns who will both be present at our November 2nd session. If we can accomplish this feat, we can continue to influence Illinois politics towards the issues that we struggle with: health care, homelessness, school equality, police reform, jobs, etc. Learn more about PACT and what we are fighting for.
2 Minutes
Send us your address book so we can e-mail potential voters and invite them to our site. 1. Potential Voters can pledge to vote and get e-mailed a reminder with helpful links and our Governors Report Card. 2. Those who have already voted (absentee or at one of 26 "early voting sites" across the city), will be able to sign up on-line to join this movement. They will not receive more than 2 e-mails.
2 Hours
We need volunteers on the ground at/near Early Voting sites every day from now until the election , AND all over the city on Election Day, Tuesday, November 7th. Other 2 hour commitments: get your campus, high school, business, church or class to If you have 2 hours (or a few hours here or there), fill out the form below.
2 Weeks
(10-40 hours/wk) Do you have some extra time the next two weeks? An at-home parent who could take the kids out to turnout voters? A student who has some free time during the day? Unemployed and/or need some work experience? Want to help build this movement for social justice? We need Voter Captains on the ground at some of our main targeted "EARLY VOTING" locations across the city.
These include Wright College, Olive Harvey, Mabell Manning Library, Logan Square Library, and others. You will be trained by our lead organizer to turn out local students and other residents through our call sheets and other items. If you are interested, fill out the form below and indicate that you want to be a Voter Captain.
